Juddy has a go at Australia’s hottest underground sport.
When we put it to Chris Judd that his next Starts Over challenge involved locking wrists with Australian national arm wrestling champion Ryan Bowen, his first reaction was incredulity.
Even with its rising popularity, arm wrestling is still a relatively underground sport in Australia. “I had no idea there were arm wrestling clubs where people train three, four, five times a week,” says Chris.
Once faced with the professional arm wrestler, our Move well ambassador’s curiosity quickly turned to admiration. Learning the intricacies and techniques of the sport of strength proved the biggest eye-opener, he says.
“I think I’ll be much better placed now to win my next arm wrestle,” he laughs.
Judging by the lack of fear in his opponent’s eyes, however, his trash talk may still need some work.
We challenged Juddy to completely start over – but you don't have to. The first step to becoming healthier could be a simple #onechange, like trying a new exercise class. If you’re looking for inspiration to keep you on track, our Think well ambassador Alisa Camplin talks more about goal setting here.
Former Australian Rules footballer Chris Judd is familiar with how to get your heart rate up and push yourself physically. Twice winner of the prestigious Brownlow Medal, Chris is an honoured sportsman and father to four children, Oscar, Billie, Tom and Darcy.
