These simple steps show you how to link Google Fit to AIA Vitality so you can earn AIA Vitality Points for activity tracked through your eligible device.
You must have an active AIA Vitality membership and an Google Fit account.
Step 1
Open the AIA Vitality app and tap Account in the bottom right corner of the screen.
Step 2
On the Account screen, tap Connected apps & devices.
Step 3
Tap Google Fit from the list of compatible apps available.
Step 4
Have your Google Fit account log in details ready.
Tap Link now
Step 5
Select the Google Fit account you want to link to AIA Vitality.
To maximise your points earning opportunities to help you reach your weekly activity targets, tap Allow.
Your Google Fit data will now sync to
AIA Vitality.
Data can take up to 48 hours to sync.
Tap Re-sync data to ensure the latest data from Google Fit has synced to AIA Vitality.
The data you’ve agreed to share will display a green tick when data has synced.
You can see Google Fit is connected to AIA Vitality on the Manage apps & devices and Google Fit screens.
During high demand periods, it can take up to 48 hours to sync your Google Fit data to the AIA Vitality app and for any eligible AIA Vitality Points you’ve earned to appear on your Points Statement.
AIA Vitality only supports activity tracked directly from Google Fit. Due to potential data integrity issues with third party devices, activity tracked by any other third party device (even if linked to Google Fit), is not supported, and cannot be used to earn AIA Vitality Points.
Step 1
Recent activity not showing on your AIA Vitality Points Statement?
Check that the activity is showing in the Google Fit app
Open the Google Fit app.
On the Home screen, tap the large circle showing Heart Pts and Steps.
The most recent activity and date will be shown.
Tap Steps to see the current day’s Steps count.
You can also view your Steps count by Week or Month.
If the data is not reflected here, it will not be in your AIA Vitality app.
Step 2
Check your Google Fit account is linked to AIA Vitality
Open the Google Fit app.
Tap Profile in the bottom right corner of the screen.
On the Profile screen, tap the Settingswheel in the top right corner, next to your Profile icon.
Tap Manage connected apps to see the apps with access to your Google Account.
You will see AIA Vitality Australia on the Google account screen if it is connected to Google Fit. If it is not reflected here, your AIA Vitality app is not linked to Google Fit.
Tap on the AIA Vitality Australia icon - All Permissions must show as selected, if not activated, your data will not share with AIA Vitality.
Tap See Details to view what data AIA Vitality has access to.
Step 3
Check the AIA Vitality app is connected to the Google Fit app
Open the AIA Vitality app.
Tap Account in the bottom right corner of the screen.
Tap Connected apps & devices.
There should be a green line on the left side of the Google Fit tile.
You should also see ‘Last synced’ and a date on the Google Fit tile.
If you don’t, tap Re-sync data to sync with Google Fit.
Step 4
How to disconnect Google Fit from AIA Vitality
Open the AIA Vitality app
Tap Account in the bottom right corner of the screen.
Tap Connected apps & devices.
Tap Google Fit, then Disconnect
Now, disconnect AIA Vitality from Google Fit.
Open the Google Fit app.
Tap the person icon on the bottom right corner of the screen.
On the Profile page, tap the Settings wheel in the top right corner, next to your profile icon.
Then tap Manage connected apps, tap AIA Vitality Australia.
AIA Vitality Australia is listed under Google account, tap the arrow on the right.
Scroll to the bottom of the screen and tap Delete all connections you have with AIA Vitality.
Then tap Confirm.
