AIA Health digital member card

Primary policyholders and partners on the policy are each eligible to set up and use their own digital member card. 

You can use your digital member card at participating healthcare providers that have a compatible tap-and-claim terminal. This includes many optical, dental, physiotherapy, and other allied health providers. Look for the contactless payment symbol at the counter or check with your provider before your appointment.

Your Android digital member card can be used at participating healthcare providers with a compatible NFC-enabled terminal. As with iPhone, look for the contactless symbol at the counter or check with your provider ahead of your visit. Note that availability may vary by provider and terminal type.

You can tap and claim on eligible extras at participating providers. The extras you’re covered for will depend on your level of cover. Check your benefits and limits in the AIA Health app to see what’s included in your policy.

Yes, your provider needs to have a compatible terminal to accept tap-and-claim. We recommend checking with your provider before your appointment if you’re unsure. You can still submit claims manually through the app if your provider isn’t set up for tap-and-claim.

Yes. You can continue to use your physical member card if you wish.

Download the AIA Health app, search AIA Health Australia in the App Store or Google Play, and follow the prompts after logging in to set up your digital member card.

If you don’t have your phone with you, you can submit a claim manually through the AIA Health app when you’re back online, or contact our team for assistance. Learn more

Yes. Your digital member card uses the same security as contactless payments on your device, including Face ID, Touch ID, or your device PIN. Your card details are never shared directly with the terminal.

Yes. The digital member card is encrypted on your device with your passcode. And your membership number is encrypted when it is securely transmitted from your device to the reader. Apple doesn’t track when you add or use the digital member card to make a claim. More information can be found at: https://support.apple.com/en-au/HT203027

On iPhone, your digital member card will automatically be available on your new iPhone once you sign into iPhone using your Apple ID. If you experience issues with this, use the AIA Health app to add your digital member card to your new iPhone again.

 

On Android, if you move to a new device, simply download the AIA Health app, log in with your existing details, and follow the prompts to set up your digital member card again.

If you need to disable the digital member card, call us on 1800 333 004 between 9am to 5pm (AEST/AEDT), Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays.

 

For Apple users, use Apple Find My to mark your device as lost or remotely erase your device. More information can be found at: https://support.apple.com/en-au/HT201472  

Add a payment card from your bank or card company to Apple Pay using the Wallet app. You can then make any gap payments using Apple Pay. More information can be found at: https://support.apple.com/en-au/HT20123
