AIA Australia is proud to continue the AIA Healthiest Schools Program in 2026, helping schools across the country build healthier, happier and more sustainable communities.

Now in its fourth year, the program provides free, curriculum-linked health and wellbeing resources for students aged 5–16. Schools that register can also take part in a national competition, with a $150,000 prize pool to support student-led initiatives that create real impact.

This year, we’re excited to expand the program with Cool.org helping us reach even more educators and students.

The program focuses on four key pillars:

  • Healthy Eating
  • Active Lifestyles
  • Mental Wellbeing
  • Environmental Sustainability
These themes align with broader ESG objectives, making participation a meaningful way to contribute to community health and wellbeing.

Last year's winners are creating change

Primary School Winner – South Rock State School
South Rock State School won the 2025 Primary School category for its innovative nutrition and wellbeing program. Through initiatives including a Breakfast Club, healthy school lunches, gardening activities and nutrition education, students are developing healthy habits while improving focus, wellbeing and life skills. The program has also strengthened community connections through support from families, volunteers and local businesses

Secondary School Winner – Nightcliff Middle School
Nightcliff Middle School won the Secondary School category for its whole-school Physical Literacy initiative, encouraging students to “Move More, Learn More and Be More Positive.” By integrating movement into learning, social and emotional wellbeing programs, leadership opportunities and community partnerships, the initiative has boosted student engagement, physical activity and positive school connections.
