Early Support

An AIA Embrace program offering early wellbeing support following absence.

What is Early Support?

Early Support is a pre-claim absence management service offered through AIA Embrace to help you recover and return to work after illness or injury.
 
You may be eligible if you're covered by an AIA insurance policy - this could be through your super fund or your employer. While you might be eligible, your employer also needs to have rolled out the program for you to access the service.
 
AIA’s Wellbeing team works with you and your manager after a workplace absence to connect you with the right treatment and support early - helping you recover sooner and return to work safely.

How does it work?

Step 1

Notification

Through the enquiry form above, you or your employer can notify AIA if your (employee) absence exceeds 10 consecutive business days, shows regular patterns, or involves a serious diagnosis which is likely to require extended time off work.

Step 2

Eligibility check

Your employer will confirm your eligibility.

Step 3

Consultation

Your employer may speak with an AIA Wellbeing Manager to find out if the Early Support program is suitable for you.

Step 4

Consent and referral

Your employer will discuss the program with you, obtain your consent and refer you to AIA with relevant documentation, such as your contact details and diagnosis.

Step 5

Wellbeing call

An AIA Wellbeing consultant will contact you to discuss your individual circumstances and develop a wellbeing plan in partnership with you. This may include referral to AIA Embrace programs that support your recovery.

Who is eligible?

Early Support is available to employees who are covered by an AIA insurance policy, which may be provided through your superannuation fund or employer.

To access the service, your employer also needs to have activated the Early Support  program.

How to get started?

  • Speak to your line manager if an illness or injury is affecting your attendance at work.
  • Provide consent to participate in the program.
  • Your line manager will handle the referral to AIA’s Wellbeing team.

Your access to the AIA Embrace programs and services may vary depending on the policy terms in place with the policy owner (the trustee of your policy or your employer). Please check your policy Product Disclosure Statement. Programs and services are provided in conjunction with AIA and external service providers. Some programs can be accessed immediately without enrolment, while others require enrolment. Please refer to the form on the page for specific access details.
