Last month we launched our Ask Us series, giving you the opportunity to ask some of your burning questions. We kicked things off with AIA Vitality, and below are some of the questions and responses.
Q1. I have clients who would like to know when the Apple Watch Benefit is going to be offered again?
We are currently working with a new finance partner to bring the Apple Watch Benefit back. This process is taking longer than originally anticipated, but please be assured we are working behind the scenes to bring the benefit back as soon as possible. Please note that anyone who activated the benefit before 30 April 2024 won’t be impacted by this change and will continue to have Active Benefits cover their loan repayments for the 24-month period as initially agreed.
Q2. What is the process for purchasing a New Balance voucher?
Members can purchase four New Balance online vouchers per membership year and can choose voucher denominations of $100, $200 and $250. We recommend members explore the New Balance website first to understand which voucher denomination is right for their purchase, because any unused credit between the voucher value selected and purchase value will be forfeited. This offer can only be used on the Australian New Balance online store.
Q3. My client wasn’t initially engaging with the AIA Vitality app which has led to a reduction in their Priority Protection policy discounts. After discussing the program and discounts, they’ve re-engaged with the program. Are they able to increasing their discounts again?
Yes, Priority Protection clients receive an initial discount on their premiums when their policy starts. This discount is applied immediately and varies depending on the policy. Clients are encouraged to stay engaged with the AIA Vitality program because by reaching Platinum Status each year, they can increase their premium discount by 1% annually, up to a maximum of 20%. This means that over time, regular participation and achieving Platinum Status can lead to significant savings on both Lump Sum and Income Protection policies.

Q4. My client doesn’t have a smart watch; can they still record their exercise?
Whilst it’s possible to track your physical activity using your smart phone, the most effective way to ensure you earn points for completed physical activity is to link and sync your fitness device. To track your heart rate, speed and calories, you need a compatible fitness device that has this functionality. AIA Vitality members get access to a 25% discount on selected Garmin devices.
