I’ve lost about 12 kg (beyond my goal) and am the fittest and strongest I’ve ever been. I’ve also run my first half marathon and have a much more active lifestyle, walking, running and moving every day.
I now pay more attention to my health and I’ve attended check-ups to get advice when needed, instead of my old habit of ignoring and not having time for these appointments.
I exercise in some way every day. I do a 28-minute HIIT work out every morning and run 3-4 times a week. My husband and I walk a lot, usually just around Melbourne, around the parks, the streets and along the river. We walk to the market every week and bring our vegies home in our shopping trolley. At work, we’ve also started a once-a-week running group where we encourage each other to move and stretch regularly.
My diet has also changed. It was already pretty good, but I follow the JERF (just eat real food) principles and watch my portions.
