Your body will thank you.
The AIA Vitality health age is a great resource to help you get acquainted with your own level of wellbeing. When you add information to the AIA Vitality app via self-assessment, professional check-ups, and physical activity – it will automatically calculate your health age.
If that number is equal to or lower than your actual age, then you’re likely on track when it comes to your wellbeing. If it’s higher, then you’ll be able to identify some key areas where you can improve your health.
You can’t turn back the clock, but you can aim to lower your AIA Vitality health age with these tips.
Engaging in exercise is a great way to ensure that you remain physically fit and healthy, not to mention the positive effect it has on your mental wellbeing.
You can log your daily activity via your phone’s default fitness app or through a third party tracker – like a Fitbit or a Garmin. Regularly achieving your daily activity targets will not only make you feel healthier and increase your chances of lowering your health age – but you’ll be rewarded with up to 100 AIA Vitality points per day, contributing to your AIA Vitality status level.
Your eating habits are factored in when calculating your health age. Twice a year, you can take the online nutrition assessment via the AIA Vitality app to see how your diet stacks up. This comprehensive questionnaire will assist you in identifying areas where you can potentially improve your nutrition – and it can earn you 500 AIA Vitality points for each completion.
Perhaps you need to make an effort to integrate more fruits, vegetables, and whole grains into your diet. Or, it might be a matter of cutting back on the sweet or salty snacks. Whatever the case, an online nutritional assessment can put you on the right track to creating sustainable habits that will help you to improve your overall health. Remember, good nutrition is not about dieting – it’s about forming a lifetime of healthy behaviour.
Members can complete a free AIA Vitality health check at participating Terry White Chemmart pharmacies once per membership year. The check-up assesses four health measures – body mass index, blood pressure, cholesterol, and random blood glucose.
Upon completion of the health check, you’ll receive verified results that can be uploaded to your AIA Vitality app. This information will be used to recalculate your health age, based on your physical wellbeing. Attending a yearly AIA Vitality health check can also earn you up 6,000 AIA Vitality points, providing an easy way to increase your status level.
