Tailored Protection is closed to new customers from 31 March 2020.

Existing Tailored Protection customers will continue to receive the full range of customer service and support they have always received. 

You can continue to manage your policies largely as you do today, including increase or decrease to cover, changes to beneficiaries or changes of ownership of ordinary polices.

Rest assured, we will continue to improve Tailored Protection to ensure it provides valuable, contemporary cover for you. This includes the extension of AIA Priority Protection’s pass back feature to all policies in the current product series, which extends back to 1997.

You can update your payment instructions verbally – it’s quick and easy. Just call us on 13 10 56, 8am to 6pm (AEST/AEDT), Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays. Please note: Your Direct Debit details will be updated within 5-10 business days after we receive your updated payment instructions and we’ll confirm the change via post. If premiums are in arrears we will automatically lodge to the new account within 7 days. Your regular lodgement date will remain the same. If you wish to tell us your new payment instructions please complete our direct debit request form below and return it to us by;

Changing your cover

If you would like to change your cover, please contact your financial adviser or call us on 13 10 56 from 8am to 6pm (AEST/AEDT) Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays.

Reducing your cover

If you would like to reduce your cover, please contact your financial adviser or call us on 13 10 56 from 8am to 6pm (AEST/AEDT) Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays, to discuss. Alternatively, you can provide a written request signed by the policy owners or for TCPS, the life insured, and return it to us by:

Cancelling your cover

Before you cancel your cover, you should consider your current health status, age and financial position as you may be unable to obtain the same cover or may even have to pay substantially more if you require protection in the future.

It’s important to note, you will not be eligible for insurance claim payments for any events or conditions that arise after your cover has ended.

If you are replacing your cover with alternative cover, you should not cancel it until the replacement cover is in place.

We recommend that you consult your financial adviser before cancelling your policy. Your adviser can explain the financial implications of cancelling your policy and how it may impact you and your family’s circumstances.

We recommend you seek independent taxation advice as to any tax implications that may arise from cancelling your insurance policy.
