Kieser's Osteoarthritis Programs are designed to help you improve your osteoarthritic hip or knee in a safe and supervised manner. They can help to delay or prevent surgery, reduce pain and improve function and quality of life.
AIA Health has partnered with Kieser to provide eligible AIA Health members access to Kieser's Osteoarthritis and Spinal Programs.
What are the Hip and Knee Osteoarthritis Programs?
The 15-week programs include:
- 9 one-on-one physiotherapy sessions (including initial assessment).
- 8 one-on-one strength training sessions with an exercise physiologist or exercise scientist.
- A physiotherapist‑designed, independent strength training program consisting of 26 sessions using Kieser equipment, supervised by Kieser's highly skilled allied health team.
- Education on how to manage and live with osteoarthritis.
- Access to the Kieser Konnect app.
What is the Spinal Program?
Kieser's Spinal Program is designed to delay or even avoid spinal surgery, improve symptoms, restore function and mobility, reduce pain and improve quality of life.
The 15-week program includes:
- 9 one-on-one physiotherapy sessions (including initial assessment).
- 8 one-on-one strength training sessions with an exercise physiologist or exercise scientist.
- A physiotherapist-designed, independent strength training program consisting of 26 sessions using Kieser equipment, supervised by Kieser's highly skilled allied health team.
- Access to the Kieser Konnect app.
- Education program on how to manage and live with your lower back condition.

AIA Health has partnered with Kieser to deliver Programs for the management of hip and knee osteoarthritis and lumbar spine conditions. The 15-week programs are developed by Kieser including physiotherapy, exercise science/exercise physiology, strength training and education services to provide high quality and multidisciplinary care to members with the primary aim of delaying or preventing surgery.
Kieser Australia is a network of integrated physiotherapy, rehabilitation, and strength training clinics, predicated on the concept and core principle of 'Strength for Health'. Kieser is committed to providing clients with the tools and support they need to achieve their goals and reach their full potential.
The program is fully funded by AIA Health with no out of pocket cost or impact on extras to members.
You will need a referral from your Medical Practitioner. To receive a referral, book an appointment with your GP and take the Kieser Program referral form and information to your GP. Your GP will review your condition against the program criteria and provide a referral if appropriate.
