AIA’s latest products incentivise Australians to be healthier

AIA Australia continues to champion healthier, longer, better lives with its latest product enhancement.

Taking the next step to help Australians lead a healthy lifestyle, AIA released the AIA Priority Protection Healthier Life Reward in April, as part of its retail insurance offering.
 
Through a list of certain eligibility criteria which includes a BMI range of 18-26, non-smoker status, no premium loadings on the policy and being an AIA Vitality member, customers are offered a 2% discount for the life of their policy as well as an increased discount of up to 17% on eligible bundled products.
 
Additionally, half of the AIA Vitality initial discount will be fixed, meaning the discounts will never go lower than 8.75% for Lump Sum benefits and 3.75% for Income Protection CORE benefits.
AIA Australia’s General Manager of Retail Distribution, Craig Parker, said that the insurer is committed to the advice market.
 
“We truly believe in the work that advisers play in making a difference to consumers’ financial wellbeing. A key part of that is their personal health and wellbeing. We know that through AIA’s offerings, we can make a difference and help people take small steps to improve their health.”
By bundling the highly successful AIA Vitality digital program with the Healthier Life Reward, AIA is hoping that not only will members benefit from being financially secure, but they will also be encouraged to make positive lifestyle changes. 
"AIA Vitality has been available in the Australian market for several years, so we already have a large base of engaged members who have benefited from our rewards partners and health checks.
 
“We have the knowledge and experience to deliver the right support. With AIA Vitality complementing the Healthier Life Reward, we can get more Australians thinking about their health, getting protected and getting rewarded for it,” Parker added.
The recent launch included further additions, enhancements and upgrades to the AIA Priority Protection product, including:
  • Introducing Crisis Recovery Progressive Events, which supports the lives insured who suffer a progressive event, such as Alzheimer’s Disease and Severe Diabetes, with enhanced access to policy upgrades
  • Enhanced policy upgrade terms, taking into account 29 medical conditions that are progressive in nature for Crisis Recovery policies
  • Upgrades to four conditions to remain in line with medical guidelines and regulatory requirements.
“All these changes are a part of the vision we have at AIA for Australia to be one of the best protected nations in the world. Health and financial wellbeing are societal issues, and at AIA we are playing our part to better protect Australians,” Parker said.
