We also analyse business performance to ensure proper management of the insurance policies in-force, while maintaining adequate reserves, reinsurance and capital levels to fulfil our obligations to policyholders.

We set the standard for excellence in life insurance in Australia by delivering life products, solutions and services that anticipate and meet our clients’ needs. We do this by providing exceptional support and service to our Partners that creates mutual loyalty and contributes in a positive way to the wellbeing of Australians.

We are more than just a life insurer. We partner with our super funds and corporate clients to develop tailored solutions that focus on caring for their members and employees.

We safeguard AIA Australia’s financial interests through effective financial controls, timely and accurate management information and insightful financial analysis to support and drive the business forward.  We are also responsible for all external reporting including statutory and regulatory filings.

We partner with the business to attract and retain the best people through: workforce planning, proactive talent acquisition, organisational culture and employee engagement, performance management and capability building, and rewards and recognition.

We manage policyholders’ assets and corporate assets to maximise risk-adjusted investment returns. In addition, we support Product Strategy functions in the development of competitive products by providing input on investment instruments and markets.

We help AIA Australia to engage in a meaningful manner with customers and other stakeholders. We ensure the consistency of AIA Australia’s messaging across all channels, design marketing campaigns to manage customer advocacy and experience, and use data insights to make key business decisions.

Partnership Distribution delivers simple and affordable Direct Life insurance solutions through partnerships with Banks and other Financial Institutions, Member-based Organisations, Direct Insurance Providers, Superannuation Funds and Retail Advisers.

We provide effective and objective oversight of the risks faced by the Group and give assurance to management and the Board that the risks are being managed satisfactorily. Our work helps the Board to maintain an international standard of corporate governance.

We provide a range of support services to our policyholders, employees, agents and other distribution partners. We help maintain AIA Australia’s daily operations and technology platforms, handle customer enquiries, and deliver business innovation across our business.

The Legal Department works closely with the business and Group Office to meet its dual key objectives of providing accurate, commercial and timely legal services in support of business objectives, and to identify, minimise and manage legal risk. 

Underwriting & Claims Development are responsible for overseeing and setting the overall underwriting and claims risk management for both Retail Services and Group Operations. This entails setting the underwriting and claims guidelines, conducting audits, being involved in product development and training and development for our underwriters and claims assessors.
