    Important information for licensees and advisers

    This website provides important information about the upcoming proposed transfer of AIA Australia Limited's (AIAA) superannuation and investments business to Resolution Life Australasia Limited (Resolution Life) under Part 9 of the Life Insurance Act 1995 (Cth). The Part 9 transfer, also known as the Scheme, is being undertaken jointly by AIAA and Resolution Life as part of the sale of AIAA's superannuation and investments business.

    Using AIA Australia-branded documents from 1 July 2023

    We will provide more information on all the rebranding changes in our next communication.

    However, in conjunction with the outage periods, it is important to note the transitional grace periods post 1 July 2023 for using AIA Australia-branded documents. They are as follows:

    What happens after the 28 July 2023 cut-off?

    New business applications for Annuities and Investment Growth Bonds

     

    28 July 2023, where the application form has been signed and dated prior to 1 July 2023.

     

    In all instances if and where the Annuity quote has expired, a new Resolution Life-branded quote will be required after this date.

    We will contact the adviser and request that they review and complete the new Resolution Life-branded PDS and any forms/documents required.

    Existing business

    28 July 2023 if all required information has also been received.

    Rebranding to Resolution Life

    From 1 July 2023, the Lifestream Guaranteed Income Annuities and Investment Growth will be issued by Resolution Life.

    Relevant forms, websites and PDSs will also reflect Resolution Life’s branding from 1 July 2023:

    Product website pages

    • Existing website links for Lifestream Guaranteed Income Annuities and Investment Growth Bonds will be redirected to appropriate new pages on the Resolution Life website which are:
    • Lifestream Guaranteed Income Annuities – resolutionlife.com.au/aia/annuities
    • Investment Growth Bond - resolutionlife.com.au/aia/igb

    Adviser Portal

    • Adviser portal will be co-branded with Resolution Life
    • The website address does not change.
    • There is no change to functionality or how you access the portal. 

    MyQuote\MyApply

    • The Annuities quote and application form will be co-branded with Resolution Life and is accessible via the AIA Adviser Portal (see above).
    • The website address does not change.
    • There is no change to the functionality or how you access these forms.

    Adviser Service Fees and Remuneration Statement

    • Statements will be co-branded with Resolution Life.
    • There will be a small change to the pds statement and the riders attached to S&I policies will now be reported under an S&I subheadings
    • There is no change to the statements cvs file

    Product Disclosure Statements

    • PDSs will be rebranded and will be available at www.resolutionlife.com.au from 1 July 2023

    Forms

    • Relevant forms will be rebranded and will be available at www.resolutionlife.com.au from 1 July 2023
    • Please note the transition rules for accepting AIA forms below

     

    Adviser Service Fees (ASF) and remuneration

    For a transitional period following completion, AIA Australia or its related body corporate may continue to facilitate the payment of some ASF and remuneration as an agent for Resolution Life, as part of the transitional arrangements entered into in relation to the transaction.

    These transitional arrangements are expected to remain in place for up to 18 months and will cease as soon as Resolution Life is able to facilitate the payment of those ASF and remuneration.

    AIA Australia will continue to pay ASF and remuneration for S&I products as an agent for Resolution Life.

    You will continue to receive one statement, however, the riders attached to S&I policies will now be reported under a Resolution Life subheading.

    No change to the csv file.

    Planned AIA Australia business outages

    It is important that all applications and associated information is provided to AIA Australia as soon as possible.

    A reminder that there will be outages to AIAA applications and services from 5pm on Friday 30 June 2023 until 9 am (AEDT) Monday 3 July 2023 including:

    • Adviser Portal and MyQuote\MyApply – will not be accessible during this time

    The confirmation of the Transfer is a significant milestone for the business, and we look forward to continuing to partner with you in this exciting new phase.

    No change to phone numbers, except all international phone numbers will be consolidated to +61 2 7202 0216 from 1 July 2023

    Email addresses

    No change. However, you may start to receive emails from a Resolution Life email address as well
