One of the most difficult conversations you’d have with your client is asking ‘what would they need, or want to be able to do should one of their child/ren become extremely ill or have a serious accident?’
It’s a scenario that no parent would want to contemplate, but as their financial adviser you are in an ideal position to ask this question, and get your clients thinking about the choices they would want to make should the unthinkable ever occur.
If your client has at least one child aged between two and 15, AIA’s Family Protection benefit may be the solution to ensuring they and their family are protected. AIA’s Family Protection will pay a lump sum of up to $200,000 if your client’s child suffers from one of the specified crisis events, and is available as a rider benefit to:
If your client holds a Crisis Recovery or Double Crisis Recovery benefit policy, and they have at least one child aged between 2 and 17, if that child suffers from one of the specified crisis events, AIA will pay a maximum lump sum of $20,000 per child (up to the value of the Crisis Recovery or Double Crisis Recovery sum insured) as part of their Crisis Recovery or Double Crisis Recovery benefit.

These are indeed sobering statistics, but it’s not just the health of their child, and what resources are needed to get them better that a parent needs to ask themselves, but also:
If you know your client has children, tackling this sensitive subject head on at the start of the advice process may make a world of difference to your client and their family in the future. We do understand it’s sometimes hard to find the words, or your client may not be able to entertain the idea of something life-threatening happening to their child.
That is why we have created a video which powerfully shows the value and importance of Family Protection that can support you in having this conversation with your clients.
